Designer Dress Hire

How does dress rental work?

  • Select your dress from our collection
  • Select size 
  • Select delivery date
  • Select your hire duration 4 day standard or 8 day bookings accepted. To be on the safe side book your order to arrive 1-2 days prior to the event to ensure you have plenty of time.
  • Wear your Gorgeous Dress
  • Forget about the Cleaning - we take care of all that for you.
  • Return the Dress for Free - Simply place the dress in the pre-paid return satchel and drop it at your nearest Post Office or the yellow express postal box by 5pm on the last official day of your hire period.  
  • Under 18 borrowing?

For borrowers under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to rent items on your behalf.

Does The Fancy Fox have a physical store?

We currently offer Online bookings only!

How long can I rent pieces from The Fancy Fox 

  • 4 Day Hire is our standard default hire   or     email our sales team and we can easily quote and arrange longer hires.

Delivery

Your dress will be delivered on or before the date you nominated on the booking.

FREE standard postage and returns to us via the prepaid satchel which will be included with your order.

If you wish to have your item fast tracked Express Shipping is $19.95

We ship Australia-wide. Please note: Express Delivery to rural areas can take an extra 1-2 days. Please look up Australia Post timeframes on their express post site to clarify your exact location delivery estimate for a package from 4810 to your postcode

Weekend or public holiday orders will be processed during business hours on the next business day.

What happens if my Dress doesn’t arrive?

In the very rare case that Australia post has misplaced or delayed a parcel – please contact us straight away - We will trace the parcel with Australia Post and update you on its progress and to find a solution to the issue.  

Returning your dress

Please refer to the Return Instructions Card included with your delivery to return your item. Please be sure to follow these instructions exactly to avoid late fees. 

If the scheduled dress return date falls on the weekend or on a public holiday, simply return it to your nearest Post Office the next business day once the Post Office is open.

You do not need to attempt to clean your dress – please pop it in the satchel and we will take care of the rest when we receive it.  

Tracking on Parcels

We will send you a confirmation email with your tracking number so you can log in and track the progress of delivery.

Late Returns

It’s a very rare occurrence that a dress is returned late however if you do happen to miss your return date and send your dress back late, then we do charge late fees.

Late returns impact our business and our ability to provide a quality service to the next customer who has hired the same dress on a date following yours.

Every day you are late in returning a dress, you will be charged a fee of 10% of the Retail Value (RRP) for each day overdue.  If you have not returned the dress within 5 days after the agreed return date, We will consider the dress as a non-returned item and will charge your payment card the full RRP less any fee’s already paid. If we are unable to recover the fee we hand the file over to our companies debt collection agency. 

If you had chosen for the dress to be delivered via post, the dress must be returned and dropped back off at a postal office by 5pm of the final day of the rental period or in a yellow Express Postal Box.

If you have arranged to pick up the dress, please return the dress by 5:00pm on the final date. 

Crinkled / Creased Dresses

We take great pride and care in packing your gorgeous dress…  however, some fabrics and pieces can be more prone to crinkles. If you receive a dress with some creasing, please hang it in a steamy bathroom as this will naturally remove these.

PLEASE DO NOT iron or steam the dress under any circumstance.

My Dress is too long

If your dress is too long, we ask that you don’t alter any of our dresses. We recommend using fashion tape to temp add a hem to your dress just please ensure it is all removed before returning the dress for dry cleaning. 

It is your responsibility to make sure that the dress does not become damaged throughout the hire, excessive staining or damage will result in further charges.

The Fancy Fox’s Hot tips to help keep the dress in perfect condition

Try not to apply any perfume’s or deodorant directly onto your fabric, spray on prior to dressing or only spray onto skin areas.

Avoid applying any oily creams and lotions to your skin before wearing your dress.

Spray Tans - we have found getting the spray tan two days before your big event results in far less tan rub then getting it on the same day or night before.  

Can I wash my dress before I return it?

No, under no circumstances should you wash or dry clean the dress.

 We have a team or fantastic Dry cleaners who care for our items.

Dry cleaning is included in your original hire fee. If you do attempt to wash or clean the dress it may result in additional charges applying.

Returns / Refunds

We do not offer refunds unless the item is damaged beyond standard wear and tear of a hire piece. Hire dresses will often have signs they are not brand new but wont be in poor condition.

What happens if I damage the dress?

Accidents do happen. We understand this and we have included up to $50 of accidental damage insurance.

Your insurance covers all minor wear and tear such as missing buttons, very small repairable tears, small water stains, stuck zips etc.

We have a team of dry cleaners and seamstresses who will attempt to repair the item.

Your insurance doesn’t cover permanent and irreparable damage or If your dress gets lost, stolen.

This is an extremely rare circumstance but if the dress is not repairable or lost, unfortunately, you will be charged the replacement value of the dress minus your hire fees already paid.

Sorry we are unable to hold dresses for you until a booking order is placed.

Purchase Pre-Loved The Fancy Fox Hire Stock

We will be selling our Preloved pieces.

There may be cases where they have minor wear and tear that  has been repaired…..  If this is the case we take great care to ensure it is clearly noted for each piece with pictures so you know the exact condition each piece is in.

All Sales are final with no returns accepted on this stock.
